2018 TOMOKO YAMAMOTO Solo Exhibition on Oil Paintings Mysterious Flowers

I fell in love with “hibiscus flowers” being surrounded with peace and natural beauty, when I visited Maui, Hawaii for the first time in 1998. Since then, the flowers have been captivating my energy and soul every time I stay there.
“Hibiscus ” reminds us of primary colors such as red or pink. And it blooms vigorously under the sun being glared down in southern islands.
On the contrary to as it looks, however, it is weak and fragile; the period in full bloom is short – usually only one day. There are more than ten thousand kinds of hibiscuses in the world. All of them are very attractive with full of mystery. I happened to stay in Maui in 2017 after a long break. And it turned out to be the opportunity to start painting such mysterious flowers.
About 45 paintings on Hibiscus flowers were exhibited at Fujiya Gallery in Ginza.
The video on the exhibition can be seen on You Tube.
